Krzyztopor is a castle that is situated in the village of Ujazd in Southern Poland.

Overview of Krzyztopor

• This castle is in Iwaniska commune in Opatow County, Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship.
• It was originally built by a Polish nobleman.
• He was also Voivode of Sandomierz in Krzyszt of Ossoli?ski (1587-1645).
• The castle was partially destroyed during the Swedish invasion.
• This invasion is also known as The Deluge in 1655.
• It was reduced to ruin during the war of the Bar Confederation.
• The war was by the Russians which took place in 1770.

The unique works include:
• Ventilation
• Heating system
• Unique waterworks
• system that provides all rooms with fresh water
• The ceiling in one of dining rooms was made up of an aquarium containing exotic fish.
• A system of dumbwaiters carried food from pantries to the upper floors.

• The castle is in a convenient proximity to main roads and rail connections.
• The walls, bastions and moat are relatively well-preserved.
• The magnitude is still very impressive.
• It is regarded as a permanent ruin.
• 90 percent of the walls have been preserved.
• Reconstruction has been planned several times.
• The ambitious project of reconstruction lacked sufficient funding.
• The castle was prominently featured in James Michener’s 1981.

The object is open during the tourist season
• (April – September) from 8:00 to 20:00,
• October from 8.00 to 17.00
The tourist season (November – March) from 8:00 to 16:00.
NOTE: Castle will not be open on the following days:
– 01/01/2013 – New Year
– 31/03/2013 – The first day of Easter
– 25, 26.12.2013 – Christmas

Free tour
– 1 caregiver for 10 people, bus drivers, children under 6 years of age,
– For all schools in the Municipality Iwaniska (not for organized events)
– Councillors: Holy Cross Regional Assembly, Opatowski District Council, Municipal Council Iwaniska
All w / in person are required to download the free tickets with cash.
• Half-price ticket: children under 12, pensioners, students, the disabled, veterans – on the basis of documents presented.
• Parking in the area of free object.
• Pricing Guide to the ruins of the castle.
• The guide service can be used only during the tourist season (April – October). Organized groups should book a guide for at least one day prior to visiting the facility >> go to online form.

• 11 – 20 of:- 40 zl
• 21 – 30 people: – 50 zl
• 31 – 40 people:- 60 zl
• 41 – 50 people: – 70 zl
• For groups with more than 50 of the people price guide services is the sum of the amount of services for a group of 50-year partnership and a multiple amount of 10 zl per each ten visitors.
• Possible distribution of large groups into smaller ones.

NOTE: The ability to take advantage of the fire and grill is canceled until the end of 2013 due to construction work on the subject.

• Grill: – 20 zl
• Table 10 persons: – 20 zl / day (payable in advance)
• Bench; – 10 zl / day (payable in advance)
• Photo session (for weddings): – 50 zl + ticket price for each person

Best time to visit / climate

• The climate is mostly temperate throughout the country.
• The climate is oceanic in the north and west.
• It becomes gradually warmer and continental towards the south and east.
• Summers are generally warm.
• It is with average temperatures between 18 °C (64 °F) and 30 °C (86.0 °F).
• Winters are rather cold.
• There are with average temperatures around 3 °C (37.4 °F) in the northwest and 6 °C (21 °F) in the northeast.
• Precipitation falls throughout the year.
• The warmest region in Poland is Lower Silesian that is located in south-western Poland.
