Travel – Scoul in Switzerland, with a spa resort in summer

Scoul is in the district of Inn. It is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Graubunden. Its official name has undergone a change in the 20th century. Up till 1943, the official name of the municipality was Schuls, in 1943, it was changed to Bad Scuol/Schuls, in 1970 Schuls was dropped and Bad Scuol was left as the name and in 1999 Bad was dropped, leaving today’s name, Scuol. The official language of Scoul is Romansh. Scuol has an area of 144.1 square kilometers (55.6 sq mi). Scuol has a population of approximately 2,334.
Among the hallmarks of the place, The Baselgia refurmada, the Chasa Wieland Nr. 29 and the Kurhaus Bad Tarasp (spa Bad Tarasp) are listed as Swiss heritage sites of national significance. Schoul lies between the peaks of the Silvretta range and the Engadin Dolomites. In summer it provides the tourists with a spa resort, whose water comes from the village fountain, the Engadin village, which retain their identity and tradition and their true rich Romansh culture and the Engadin Bad Scoul health baths, the first Roman-Irish baths set in scenic views and sauna with view of mountains that make bath an enjoyable one.
In winter, the place is full of winter sports like the skiing in Alpine ski area of Motta Naluns, which can be reached with a cable railway, gentle pistes, connoisseurs, 12km long piste, Snow and Fun park and the health bathing centre with turkish bath. During the winter months the villages are great locations for cross-country skiing. It is fun to hike and ski to a distant village for lunch. Scuol is in the middle of mountains and it’s a long way to get there by car. It can also be dangerous, especially in winter and with bad weather.

• Engadin Bad Scuol: This is the biggest thermal bath in Scuol. It has warm mineral water pools, Sauna, Massages, Light-Therapy, and Colors- Therapy. The core of it is the “Roman-Irish Bath” that connects two old European thermal cultures in one bath ritual: the old Romans created their thermos with hot water steam baths, while the old Irish achieved the same goal with baths in warm and dry air.
Here you start with a hot air bath (54 C), and a hotter one (70 C), get a massage, followed by two different steam baths and finally you can completely relax in two pools, one Jacuzzi filled with mineral water and the last one is just mineral water.

How to get there:
